Professor Anna Lartey, Ph.D.

Chair

Prof. Lartey is the past Director for Nutrition at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), past President of the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS) as well as its 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. She attended the University of California, Davis in California as a Fulbright student and received her Doctorate in International Nutrition. She is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors for VAC Center, Winneba.

Mr. Ben Kweku Idun, Director

Mr. Idun is a Civil Engineer with over 20 years of executive management experience in the UK. He moved back to Ghana in 2007 to establish Elmina Bay Resort, a 36-room beachfront hotel in Elmina, Ghana, W. Africa. He is the Managing Director of Elmina Bay Resort Ltd and immediate past Chairman of the Central Region-Ghana Hotels Association.

Mr. Kwesi Abbey Sam, Director

Mr. Sam is a Civil Engineer who served as the Chief Director of the Ministry of Roads and Highways (now Ministry of Transportation) from September 1993 to December 2000. He is the current Chairman of the Board of the Engineering Council of Ghana, and a Lay Preacher in the Methodist Church of Ghana.

Ms. Barbara Beverly Brown

Ms. Brown graduated from the University of Ghana, Legon, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, with a major in Political Science, in 2006. She also holds an LL.B from the Faculty of Law. She is currently Legal Counsel at Groupe Nduom Limited, a multinational company with a diverse portfolio of businesses and social welfare enterprises primarily in Ghana, other West African nations, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America. Barbara is a member of both the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) and the International Bar Association (IBA). She serves as Legal Counsel and Company Secretary for VAC Center Ltd.

Francesca Colecraft Dwamena, MD, FACP, MPH

Dr. Dwamena is a practicing General Internal Medicine Physician and immediate past Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Michigan State University in the USA.

She is a product of Aburi Girls Secondary School, Ghana; Wellesly College, Wellesly, Ma, USA; Howard University College of Medicine, Washington DC, USA; and a graduate of the Program for Chairs of Clinical Services at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Cambridge Ma, USA.

She is the founder of Vibrant Aging Community Center Ltd Company, and a member of the Board of Directors. She divides her time between the United States and Ghana.

Catherine Colecraft Sarbah, MD, MPH

Dr. Sarbah is a Medical Doctor specializing in Infectious Diseases, practicing in the USA. She is a product of The George Washington University, DC, USA; Howard University College of Medicine in Washington DC, and the University of South Carolina Norman J School of Public Health. She is co-Founder of Vibrant Aging Community Center, Ltd. and a member of it’s Board of Directors.

Esi Komeley Colecraft, DrPH.

Dr. Esi K Colecraft (aka Dr. Esi Adu-Afarwuah), is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Nutrition and Food Science at the University of Ghana. She is a product of Cornell University (Ithaca, NY), Penn State University (PA), and University of Birmingham (Alabama), USA and holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Nutritional Sciences and a Doctor of Public Health degree in International Health. She also worked at Iowa State University prior to moving back to Ghana. She is co-CEO of VACC, and also its recent past Interim Director of Operations.

Mr. KNT (aka DNT) Danquah is a product of the University of Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). Previously Management Accounting Officer, then Logistics Manager, Ghamot/Toyota Ghana. Currently retired Non-Executive Director, Toyota, Ghana.

Blessed Kuuku Aseidu-Bonzie

Mr. Aseidu-Bonzie is a product of Winneba Secondary School and graduated from the University of Education, Winneba, with a Bachelor’s degree in Geography Education. He loves to read and learn about technology, and also loves music. Gaining invaluable experience from teaching, he has come to appreciate the special value of every individual and strives to help people in any way he can. He currently serves as Administrative Assistant at VACC.
