July 1 2022 marked the official start of operations.
Since the May 26th formal commissioning, VACC Management has continued to work tirelessly and diligently, leaving no stone unturned to find and hire just the right group of people to form a cohesive and stellar operational team on the ground. Indeed the relentless pursuit to find just that right mix of team members to take on the monumental task of running this first of its kind assisted living facility in Ghana has in equal parts felt like a “mountain climbing” excursion, a “find the needle in the haystack” venture and a “treasure hunt” adventure! Happily the painstaking process is yielding sure progress, and with it the discovery of excellent personnel within and around the local community who will build the VACC family just as was envisioned!
We are excited to introduce a group of high integrity, hardworking, compassionate and dedicated individuals who all have the common aim of helping our aged feel valued and safe, and be engaged. Meet the team: Co-CEO and Interim Director of Operations (iDOO) Dr. Esi Komeley Colecraft (aka Dr. Esi Adu-Afarwuah), Assistant to the iDOO Mrs. Amanda Lankai Lamptey, Food Services Supervisor Ms Marian Araba Yarney, Administrative Assistant Nana Arhin Sagoe-Enninful, Ms Anita Koranteng (Housekeeping), Security Guards Mr. Mawuli Tettey and L. Samuel Arthirand. Our final pivotal position- Wellness Officer -has just been filled and Ms Georgina A. Y. Hafron, RN is undergoing the onboarding process.
Team VACC has hit the ground running. The members are together acclimatizing, learning, practicing, acquiring new and honing pertinent skill sets. They are simultaneously readying themselves and daily transforming the beautiful edifice into the comfortable, homey and happy homestead that awaits all those who will call Vibrant Aging Community Center home, and all the guests and clients who will cross its threshold. They are eager to showcase the unique Vibrant Aging Community Center living experience- where kind and smiling faces, friendly, competent helping hands and beautiful open spaces stand ready to greet you Akwaaba!
